And that’s a pity, because rethinking some of the infrastructure of an educational Web – something that Caulfield has been writing about lately – is far more interesting than building yet another centralized and corporatized OER repository.

The key to effective use of OER is to use it with a LMS so that we know who knows what. Schooling is still about issuing some kind of certificate based on some kind of assessment by someone other than your mother. See http://developingprofessionalstaff-mpls.blogspot.com/ for more.
